Our therapists come from various backgrounds, but all are well-qualified and dedicated to providing you with excellent care.

Clinical social work (MSW, RSW) is a specialization of general social work that is primarily focused on treating mental health issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, addictions, self-esteem issues, stress management, parenting difficulties, and many other mental health and life issues.

Marriage and Family Therapy (MMFT) is a distinct mental health discipline where a systems theory framework is applied to viewing and treating individuals, couples, families, groups and organizations. Marriage and Family Therapists view problems in complex and holistic ways, examining relationships and interactions as significant components of health and optimal functioning. Marriage and family therapists provide counselling to help individuals, couples, and families resolve interpersonal difficulties, develop effective and satisfactory relationships and build meaningful support systems. In addition to relational issues, they provide support for mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, addictions, etc.

Counseling Psychology (Ma, CCC) uses a broad range of culturally-informed and culturally-sensitive practices to help people improve their well-being, prevent and alleviate distress and maladjustment, resolve crises, and increase their ability to function better in their lives. It focuses normative life-span development, with a particular emphasis on prevention and education as well as amelioration, addressing individuals as well as the systems or contexts in which they function.

Psychology (CCC, PA(IP) is a regulated health profession whose clinicians are trained in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of behavioural and mental conditions. In addition, Psychologists (or Psychological Associates) use a variety of approaches directed toward the maintenance and enhancement of physical, intellectual, emotional, social and interpersonal functioning.

Oftentimes we get stuck in a pattern of trying to talk and reason our way through life's struggles, but these struggles carry weight and energy and become stored in our bodies. Because our breath carries energy, the movement of breath often allows us to let go and release the things that we may be consciously or subconsciously holding onto. The power of breathwork is incredibly dynamic! It can be used for trauma healing, reducing stress + anxiety, deepening self and spiritual connection, reducing chronic pain, enhancing athletic endurance, nervous system regulation, and much more!

NeurOptimal is considered by many to be the most highly evolved form of neurofeedback available today. After more than 40 years in the neuroscience field and related disciplines, Drs. Susan & Valdeane Brown, have developed a technology that gives feedback directly to your brain allowing it to regulate itself more efficiently. During a NeurOptimal brain training session, you wear two tiny sensors on your head and ear clips on your ears that read the electrical activity of your brain. You lay down or sit in a comfortable chair, listen to music and close your eyes or watch a fractal image or a movie. Through tiny pauses in the music, NeurOptimal communicates with the brain, letting it know what it has just done. These interruptions give the opportunity for the brain to adopt a more natural, relaxed and effective pattern. After a 33-minute session, most feel refreshed, relaxed and in a higher state of mental alertness and flow.

I have a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Winnipeg. I am trained as an EMDR Therapist, a Brainspotting Practitioner, a Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator, and a Sources of Strength Facilitator.

My passion for therapy grew out of the observation that when people are in personal or relational distress, not only is human support the best medicine, but they often need someone to walk with them or guide them back toward finding their connection, place of centre, or sense of wholeness.

To my mind there is no greater work. I really care about people and find it very fulfilling to watch people step back into their power, enjoy better relational health, or more personal wholeness.

I hold a degree in Applied Counselling Skills, and a Bachelor’s of Social Work from the University of Manitoba.

I am a therapist for many reasons. When I see someone struggling, I genuinely want to help. It’s a way for me to show compassion, empathy and to support people. I am human and have struggled at times and I feel that my experiences help me to understand how my clients are feeling.

I specialize in working with those who have suspected and diagnosed Anxiety, Depression and ADHD/ADD. Having these diagnoses myself, has helped me to understand the traits, symptoms and ways to cope and manage. I also have a special interest in working with teens and women.

I am a firm believer in client-centered therapy, trusting that the client is the expert on their own life and that my role is to help clients meet their goals through curiosity and the creation of a safe space. I work with my clients to try to understand the motivations behind their thoughts, feelings, and actions and invite a posture of empathy and compassion towards these parts of themselves. I have worked with families, couples, and youth, as well as clients with experiences of anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, PTSD, ADHD, and BPD.

My goal for all my clients is that they would learn to truly love themselves and that this love would motivate them to chase the life they want to lead. I work hard to honor and create space for experiences of frustration, worry, grief, and excitement and try to listen to what these experiences can teach us about our hopes, values and identity.

I am primarily trained in Narrative Therapy (framing our problems and healing in the context of the stories we live out) and EFT (identifying the emotions behind our behaviours), however, my interest in IFS (understanding the competing parts of our minds and why they do what they do) has led me to incorporate elements of it in my work.

I think it is a very human experience to assume that we need to have all the pieces together. In an effort to belong, it can be easy to get disconnected from who we are and what we actually need. Sometimes what we need is just the space to feel.

Whether you are suffering from anxiety, depression, whether you are feeling a bit lost, dissatisfied in relationships, or running on overdrive, we will work together to explore your concerns. It is my hope that we can work collaboratively to identify some of the recurring patterns and narratives that are holding you back. In this way, we can expand your inner landscape so that you can find new ways of relating and connecting in a way that feels nourishing—to you. You are the expert in your life—with unique strengths and ideas and intuitive knowing.

I know how powerful it is to feel a sense of connection. Taking a step towards therapy is taking a brave step towards reconnecting with yourself. I approach everyone from an anti-oppressive lens and respectfully acknowledge that I am a settler on Treaty 1 territory.

Welcome, I look forward to connecting with you.

I recognize that I am the descendant of colonizers in Treaty 1 territory and that the traumatic effects of colonization are far reaching. I often find myself addressing how normalized we’ve become to this trauma. One of the most common examples of this is how we get stuck in “who is right and who is wrong” mentality when navigating our relationships to ourself and others. As an answer to this, my approach is one of compassion, non judgment and seeking out the authenticity of everyone in my care. To achieve this, I use the Gottman method to establish scientifically based metrics of success. To attain these metrics, I use a combination of Internal Family Systems and Attachment based therapies. I find this approach appeals to a broad spectrum of clients regardless of demographics. That being said, I have found that I can offer a particularly attuned approach to men aged 10 and up.

My therapist training included over 500 clinicial hours, with half of that focused on couples and families. In September 2020, I began working professionally and have since accumulated nearly 5000 hours of experience.

In my private life, I am focused on maintaining a very healthy lifestyle. I have a home gym but also go to a local fitness facility. I enjoy running at least once a week. Craft fairs, local music and traveling also form part of the repertoire of my hobbies.

After reading the above, if you feel like I would be able to help you with an issue you’re facing in your life, please don’t hesitate to book with me. The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.

Hello and welcome. I admire your courage in seeking help as you face the challenges in your unique lived experience. I am honored that you are considering my support and guidance to help you address life’s complexities and build your resilience.

Using an integrative and holistic approach, I employ various evidence-based practices from multiple theoretical underpinnings including narrative therapy, person-centered therapy, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Internal Family Systems, mindfulness, CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, to best support your personal goals.

My role in your journey is to provide a compassionate and empathetic space, where I can help guide you as you explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges without judgement. Together, we will collaboratively tailor a treatment plan that addresses your unique needs and goals, fostering your emotional well-being and resilience.

As a settler living and practicing on Treaty 1 territory (traditional ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis), and as an ally to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, I practice from an anti-oppressive framework and provide affirming and trauma-informed care with a diverse range of clients from various walks of life. _____

Regardless of the theoretical framework I’m drawing from, my general approach is that people don’t need to be fixed – we all need to be heard, seen, understood, and valued in all of our complexity. I aim to provide a space where people are free to be curious about their inner world, accept what is there, and to gently challenge themselves to grow. This is not about becoming some idealized version of themselves. It’s about (re)introducing them to the compassionate, confident and calm person that’s always been there. My hope is that clients leave our time together with something intangible – a felt sense of knowing who they really are as they learn to come home to themselves.

I work with an all-inclusive, anti-oppressive lens, and I acknowledge that I am a settler living and working on Treaty 1 territory. I live as an ally in the reconciliation process. I believe that everyone deserves to live their best life and for many of us, entering therapy is the first major step towards that goal. I believe in building a trusting and safe therapeutic space, and whether you are trying to find balance and connection in your relationship with yourself, your partner, or others, we can work together to help get you there. In this way, you can move forward in your life and thrive. My approach is collaborative and my experience extensive, and as we work together as equals, I see you as the expert of your life. That means I am client-centered and we start where you are at with what you need. And as a humanist, I believe in your intrinsic nature to be able to heal and grow and we will create a specific plan that best reflects your unique needs, whether you are an individual or a couple. Away from the therapeutic world, I am also married and I am the father of two. I am also a self-taught musician who plays several instruments and can be found, in my off time, often playing, challenging myself to improve and become better. If you decide that we can work together, I would be honored to walk beside you on your therapeutic journey.

I am a Registered Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Manitoba. I am also an EMDR practitioner, and a Registered Yoga Instructor.

I help clients by having them tell me their story; what is their current experience and what have they done in the past. Together, we develop strategies to do things differently and move forward by using tools such as solution-focused questions, strategies from CBT, and Basic EMDR therapy. I have had clients tell me it’s helpful to talk to someone without judgment and find ways to cope with current issues.

“What’s going on? What happened? What’s wrong with me? When will this end?” The endless swirling thoughts & feelings can leave us confused, exhausted, overwhelmed and cut off from ourselves and others. The more we silence them, the louder they seem to become.

As a Master of Social Work practicum student, with years of experience as a therapist and in community health, I work with youth and adults from a trauma-informed, client-centered and anti-oppression lens. I am a Mother of 3 grown kids and have worked off and on for the past 20 years in the school system with youth who have various mental health challenges. I’ve offered Hypnotherapy and IFS Informed Counseling at the Winkler Wellness Center and Online since 2016.

I am passionate about offering neurdivergent affirming care and have studied Subconscious healing modalities since I was a teenager. I have helped many people process childhood trauma in a comfortable way. I am fascinated by how we can use the theta brainwave state to reprogram the mind for more helpful beliefs and habits.

Hypnotherapy has a long history of treating mental health issues and resolving inner conflict. Our sessions together will help you learn how to identify and respond to what may be triggering anxiery, depression or panic attacks.

A session wth me feels like a spa for the mind, the entire hour is a guided visualization and conversation in a comfortable and relaxed state of mind. My goal for clients is to understand themselves and others better, to gain inner resources to feel safe, supported and empowered, and to tame the inner critic and tune into their inner coach.

My approach welcomes all parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion because they have good intentions but might need a more helpful job. Guided self-discovery is going into the cave of your subconscious mind together so you feel safe and can make the changes that you choose.

Hypnotherapy is not a fact-finding mission. Rather it uses the imagination and metaphors to access the subconscious mind’s interpretation our inner child placed on past events. You can feel lighter with a shift in perspective. Imagine Peace of Mind.

I love deep quotes, spending time with friends and family, watching some reality shows/documentaries, reading, writing, dancing, photography and podcasting. If you’d like a break from the stress of life and feel lighter, feel free to book with me. www.chantellen.com

Click here to see my video ____ alannarussell.therapy@gmail.com _______ Greetings and salutations! My name is Alanna and I’m happy to invite you to a safe, nonjudgmental space where your feelings matter.

I like to work with adolescent and adult individuals within an integrative and holistic approach to address daily life and emotional difficulties. Some of the models I use when providing tools and alternative perspectives include solution-focused, emotion-focused, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioural techniques. The majority of my work includes collaborating with clients who are managing issues related to self-esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, sex, and dating. As a settler living and practicing on Treaty 1 territory, and a proud ally of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, I apply an intersectional feminist and anti-oppressive lens to my work, meeting you where you’re at to validate your unique human experience.

I personally believe that people need people, and that authentic connection with others is one of the greatest tools we can have in our healing journey. I am passionate about creating an environment where my clients can comfortably reflect, explore, and be seen in their vulnerabilities. My work is tailored to individual needs while practicing in values of curiosity and intentionality. When appropriate, I enjoy infusing a sense of humour and play within sessions because I don’t believe that therapy necessarily has to be “hard”. I want to help you be able to shine a compassionate light on the darkness that any of us can encounter and tap into what you really want from your life.

In my free time, I like exploring local music, art shows, and restaurants. I also like to read, play guitar, practice yoga, journal, and cuddle my cat.

If we have the opportunity to work together, it would be an honor to get to know you and help you sort through your thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
